Breathtaking seen of thousands of lamps and marigold flower

Haridwar is the place, where we get the breathtaking seen of thousands of lamps and marigold flower floats and illuminating in the holy river Ganga. It is the oldest pilgrim centre of Bharath. Haridwar district comes in the South western part of Uttarakhand state of India. The Indian mythology says that Haridwar is the place where we can find the footprint of God. In the Indian language ‘Hindi’, Haridwar means ‘the gate way of god’. This place comes under the seven holistic city of India. The other speciality of the place is that it is a venue of Kumbh fair, which held in every twelve years and Ardh Kumbh Mela in six years.
Haridwar is the first town where river Ganges emerges from the mountains to touch the plains. So the Kumbh festivals are held at the bank of the Ganga in Haridwar.Eight to ten million devotees gathers here during Kumbh mela. They come here for this particular day to dip in the holy river. Belief behind it is that, Kumbh Mela has the power to wash away all the sins of a person and free him, from the cycle of birth-rebirth, of those who participate in them with full devotion.
The story behind this ritual is connected with the creation of earth. The Hindu mythology says that, Haridwar is one among the four cities where drops of the Amrita, accidentally spilled over from the pitcher, in which it was being carried away by the celestial bird Garuda, after the Samudra Mathan. In this four spots, Ujjain, Haridwar, Nasik and Allahabad have today become places where the Kumbh Mela is celebrated once every 3 years in any of these 4 places and after a period of 12 years, the maha Kumbh Mela is celebrated at Prayag in Allahabad. In this particular day tourists from all over the world congregate here to celebrate the event.
Important Attractions of the place
The Brahma Kund, the spot where nectar is considers to be fall, is now knows as Hari-ki-pauri, and is a sacred ghat of Haridwar. This ghat was constructed by the king Vikramaditya in the memory of his brother Bhartrihari. It’s said that the king’s brother came to Haridwar and meditated in the banks of holy river Ganga. When Bhartrihari died the king Vikramaditya c
onstructed a ghat in his memory, and later it known in the name of Hari-ki-Pauri. The golden reflection of floral diya in the river Ganga is the most enchanting sight in the twilight during the Ganga Arati ceremony at the ghat.
One the other bank of Ganges we will see the Chandi Devi temple on the top of ‘Neel Parvat’. It was constructed by the Kashmir king Suchat Singh in AD 1929. It is believed that Adi Shankaracharya established the main statue of the temple in eighth century AD. The ropeway that connects the temple makes it accessible for visitors.
Going up, you will reach Bilwa Parvat, where the Manasa Devi Temple is situating. The Bilwa Parvat will give you the good view of Haridwar, the Ganges, and the beauty of nature. The other attraction of the places are newly constructed Vaishno Devi Temple, the replica of original Vaishno Devi Temple of Jammu and Kashmir. The other important attractions of the place are the Bharat Matha Temple, Maya Devi Temple, Bhimgoda, Shanti Kunj and Gurukul Kangadi University, the University where education is imparted in the traditional Indian Gurukul customs. In the Veda Mandir of the University you will find many archaeological exhibits.

If you are ready to wait till sunset you will be part of the Aarti ceremony, the priest set floating lamp on the water.
